Especially because, if you live in or around this neighbourhood — you’re familiar with the 45-minute drive to posher parts of town like Nungambakkam and Alwarpet for your weekend dose of party-hopping. That said, the name ‘Middle of Nowhere’ does likely resonate with your BFFs venturing far from home turf to drive down and meet you at the other end. Whichever end of the spectrum you are making the trip from, though — the plush 2,800 sq foot space located on Bazaar Road does not disappoint. The décor is swanky with the signage ‘Nowhere’ crafted from a 30-foot infinity mirror calling to you for that Instagram selfie the moment you enter. Speaking of Instagram, the appetizer section labeled as ‘Insta starters’ promises to reach your table in five minutes. And the cherry on top, the menu has a smattering of dishes highlighted with a blue dot — that consultant chef Saravanan K promises you will find ‘nowhere’ but here. With appetizers like Kari Dosa Tacos and Siru Keerai Phyllo Pastry making their way to our table, we can’t say that we disagree.

Twisty Tails is housed in a restored 50-year-old bungalow and is now apparently one of Chennais first exclusive cafes for doggos and their humans. The concept? Go on a date with your dog! We ruff this!Canines & ConversationsThis bright and happy space in Nungambakkam is a little doggie wonderland. Step inside and be amazed by its chic ambience bright blue and teal walls with checkered floor tiles and dog portraits all around. Youll even be greeted by the eight, adorable resident Havanese cuddle pups. It promises to be a happy space for not just foodies but dog lovers and parents alike {just be prepared for occasional licks and love from the four-legged guests}. When it comes to the food, expect a multi cuisine menu. Humans can dig into North Indian, Tandoori, Asian and continental food while your pets get a menu of their own {which will be finalised soon}. For pet parents it will cost around INR 1,000 for two people.The place is converted into three key areas theres an exclusive Puppy Love space dedicated to anyone who wants to have some snuggle time with the resident pooches {perfect if youve never had a pup of your own and always wanted to get in on some lovin}. The Dog Cafe, which is undergoing some work now, will soon whip up food for your pooches and you. {You can dine while your pups eat and play around you.} And the Resto-Cafe is where pet parents or non-pet parents can grab some grub.
